Frequently
asked.

Cross-route questions Kent customers ask before booking. Route-specific questions (Brittany ferry routing, Übersiedlungsgut, Hook of Holland, NHR scheme) live on the individual country pages.

Why is the brand framed around the whole of Kent rather than a single town?
Kent is a big county and the customer profile is mixed — Tunbridge Wells retirees, Maidstone families, Ashford professionals, Margate creatives, the Medway towns, the SE-London-adjacent boroughs of Bromley and Bexley. A single-town brand would underserve most of them. The umbrella works because the operation works the same way regardless of which Kent town you load from: same crew door-to-door, same customs paperwork, same fixed-figure quote.
Where do Bromley and Bexley sit in this?
Bromley and Bexley are technically London boroughs now but they're Kent-historical and Kent-adjacent — we cover both. They also have specialist sister sites (bromleyremovals.uk and bexleyremovals.co.uk) that go deeper on the postcode-level catchment for those boroughs specifically. If you're moving from a BR-postcode address and want a brief that reads as Bromley-specific, that's where to look. Same operation underneath.
What countries do you cover from Kent?
All ten supported European destinations. Channel: France and Belgium. Iberian: Spain and Portugal. Italian: Italy. DACH: Germany, Switzerland, Austria. Benelux: Netherlands, Luxembourg. Each has a dedicated route brief on the site under /removals-from-kent-to-<country>/. Beyond Europe is out of scope for the network.
Do you handle the customs paperwork?
Yes, end to end. UK export declaration filed before the lorry leaves your Kent address. Destination import declaration filed at the entry port. Transfer-of-residence relief filed against your destination residency document — French déclaration de domicile, Spanish empadronamiento, Italian residenza, German Anmeldung, Dutch BSN, Luxembourg déclaration d'arrivée, the Swiss Übersiedlungsgut permit. You handle the residency registration; we handle the customs filings; the relief application closes when both are aligned.
Is there a survey before the quote?
For larger moves, yes — a home visit is the cleanest way to size the lorry and spot the quirks (loft access, narrow staircases, a piano nobody mentioned). For smaller and partial-load moves, photos through every room plus an inventory note are usually enough. Whichever route, the written quote is fixed-figure for the whole job and paid on completion.
How does insurance work?
Goods-in-transit cover applies for the full route from your Kent address through to the destination delivery, including any agreed storage at either end. Specific cover limits are stated on your written quote and reflect the contents being moved. Higher-value cover for individual items (musical instruments, art, watches) is quoted as a separate line on top of the standard cover.
How do I get a quote?
Submit photos and an inventory through the form on the quote page. We come back promptly with a written route-specific quote that includes the proposed routing, the customs filing path, the goods-in-transit cover detail, and a single fixed figure for the whole job. The number we quote is the number you pay; we do not show up at delivery with a higher invoice.
What's excluded?
Vehicle imports (cars, motorcycles) are referred to a specialist. Pianos and fragile fine art are quoted on a case-by-case basis with the appropriate specialist crew. Office contents at scale (full corporate fit-outs) are out of scope and we recommend a commercial removals firm. Items prohibited by the destination country — controlled substances, certain firearms, specific botanical or animal materials — are listed in the booking contract; we will flag any concern at the survey, not at the customs office.
